Trip of a Lifetime
03:43
|
|||
The leaf that does not wither, on the branch that will not die
Connected to the body and the crown held up on high
Throughout the summer’s growing ‘til flower and fruit are done
The leaf fall and the pruning, as season’s end is come
When springtime sap is rising, new life within is stirring
Where old leaf once was clinging , the sunlight brings new birth
This cycle of renewal; the circle of creation
The almighty affirmation, this life, this life is good.
To live it is to love it, in every way we grow it
And though we may not know it this tree it dwells within
By our fruit we show it, and others then may know it
That every day we grow it this tree of life within,.
Love, Joy, Peace, and Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Gentleness
Faithfulness and Self Control , The fruits the Spirit grows
The leaf that does not wither, the branch that will not die
Connected to the body and the crown held up on high

Come To Me
04:33
|
|||
He paid a debt He did not owe,
I owed a debt I could not pay
His life is given day by day,
so we can live a better way
It’s something everyone can know,
but many turn their ears away
Our hearts are closed and so they stay ,
‘til something causes us to pray….
He said
Come to me All you who are heavy laden
Come to me And I will give you rest
Come to me I’ll give you living water
Come to me And I will give you peace
I cannot tell just how it was
But something settled from above
A blessing holy, pure and true,
Something only grace can do
I know it isn’t just for me
A gift so bounteous and free
In gratitude I’ll always be
Your Spirit came to me
You said
Come to me All you who are heavy laden
Come to me And I will give you rest
Come to me I’ll give you living water
Come to me And I will give you peace
Come to me The well within your soul

Reflections at Galilee
05:03
|
|||
Was I called to be a hermit,
I really couldn’t say,
Not a thing that someone chooses,
Solitude from day to day.
Yet the early Desert Fathers,
In the first age of our faith
Found a beauty in the simple way of life
Peace, be still.
Peace, be still (Ad lib) … It is God’s will
Even Jesus took to wandering,
So to find a place to pray
Where there were no more distractions
And He found the Father’s way
Peace surpassing understanding,
the heavenly dove descending
To impart the Father’s blessing on the Son
Peace, be still
Tempted by our own condition and our need find permission
We take no time to seek the presence of the Lord
Yet for those who lay their ear,
on Jesus breast,
God’s heart-beat hear
Evermore return the love of God they share
Peace, be still
Lord Jesus Christ Almighty,
Son of the Living God,
Have mercy on me a sinner
Peace be still, Peace be still, It is God’s will.

Tree of Life
03:55
|
|||
We went off to the Holy Land, Jerusalem was very grand
On Via Dolorosa we did stand and the rain came down
I went up to the wailing wall, I got up close and felt so small
I touched the stone, God touched my soul, I was high, high, high.
To Bethlehem and Bethany, the separation wall it made me grieve
A Banksy dove and other graffiti - said take it down, down, down
From high above to far below sea level down to Jericho,
The lowest and the oldest city in the world a round round round
And so it’s on to Galilee, Tiberias beside the sea
To places Jesus used to be long ago go go
This was called the promised land - Mt Hermon sentinel and grand
From Golan Heights we saw it stand in snow snow snow
The Jordan’s source was cold and clear, St Peter quaked and quivered here
But Jesus told him ‘have no fear – you’re the rock on which they’ll stand
Some place I just didn’t see, the COVID got the best of me
I kind of missed the jamboree staying home – a- lone
But all is well, I have hunch, insurance might just pay for lunch
It’s been a hoot and this Welsh bunch give it - Hwyl, Hwyl, Hwyl
Trip of a lifetime so it’s said, - ‘ I’ll not be doing that again’
But it’s in your heart not in your head - feels like there’s more to come.
So all in all it goes to show, what’s up ahead we never know
Though isolation seemed so slow, I got back safely home
Yes! I got back safely home – eventually

Paul Lucas Maryport, UK
I've been a music man since my mid teens and songs emerge when something prompts at the inner place and there's no telling
when that will happen.
This collection of recorded material spans a good number of years - and hopefully there is more to come.
Music for me, is both a mood maker and a communicator, so I hope these offerings give you both food for thought and grounds for a good mood.
